I do understand that 40 minutes per week in the theraputic breathing zone in and of itself should help to lower blood pressure over time.

Q: I am on atenolol since 2006. I weighed 108 but now I weigh 138. When I tried to exercise I noticed I cannot get my heart rate up no matter what. How Cozaar Reduces Blood Pressure Cozaar (losartan) is one of a new class of blood pressure medication called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). Angiotensin II is a chemical that causes the muscles surrounding the blood vessels to contract (tighten). This in turn narrows the blood vessels. This narrowing increases the pressure within the blood vessels and can cause high blood pressure (hypertension). Cozaar works by blocking the action of angiotensin II. As a result, the blood vessels dilate (relax) and blood pressure is reduced. Other ARB medications include Diovan, Avapro, Atacand, Micardis, Atacand Plus, and Hyzaar.
