There is something extremely cozy and relaxing, sitting with a warm cup of tea before bedtime. Albeit stay away from Celestial Seasons “Morning Thunder” if your goal is sleep. Nowadays, there are on the market many teas to help you sleep. Here is a list of a few teas with great reputations for helping the child in you fall gently asleep.

Twinings Honey Tea

Known for its soothing and relaxing properties, chamomile has long been a reliable sleep aid and also helps tame anxiety. This calming blend is made with honey, which has detoxifying benefits, and a hint of vanilla. Its all-natural flavors create a creamy aroma and make it ideal for those with a sweet tooth.

Pukka Night Time Tea

Pukka has crafted an organic herbal tea with ingredients that help settle the mind and prepare you for a restful slumber. One of its main ingredients is Valerian, a flowering plant that has been used to ease insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness for hundreds of years. Other ingredients include calming oat flower, lavender, and lime-flower. Infuse for five minutes.

More Great Teas For Sleep

Yogi Tea Bedtime Tea

If you like a bit of a kick to your tea, then this flavorsome blend of chamomile, cardamom, and licorice ought to impress you. Its relaxing benefits are enhanced by Valerian, fennel, and passionflower. Brew for at least three minutes and drink an hour before sleep for best effect.

Cowshed Sleepy Cow Tea Bags

Treat yourself to some blissful beauty sleep with Cowsheds uplifting tea blend. Made from organic ingredients, it offers a sweet and aromatic flavor of chamomile, lemon, and marjoram – a perennial herb that is known to cure snoring and insomnia. The elegant Fuso tea bags make the experience all the more indulging. Brew for 5-6 minutes.

chamomile is commonly regarded as a mild tranquilizer or sleep inducer. Its calming effects may be attributed to an antioxidant called apigenin, which is found in abundance in chamomile tea.

Cinnamon Tea

The benefits of cinnamon tea are impressive, not just for sleeping. It’s been shown to regulate blood sugar, promote weight loss, lower cholesterol, boost your immune system, prevent disease, improve digestion, boost brain function, reduce inflammation.

Before you ditch your regular evening rituals, note that cinnamon tea comes with potential side effects. In high doses, it can cause liver failure, due to an ingredient in cinnamon called coumarin. You can likely get away with at least a few cups per day with no concerns, but this is something to keep in mind, especially if you’re consuming varieties like Cassia, Korintje, and Saigon.

Valerian Tea

This is one that I love. Organic “Nighty Night Extra” by “Traditional Medicinals”. They created the strongest sleep formula. They blended Valerian with complementary herbs like passionflower, lemon balm and peppermint to mellow you out and help you sleep easy.

So now you have an assortment of teas to try the next time you can fall asleep. My personal favorites are Sleepy Time Extra and Pukka Night Time Tea.
