I've just stopped my BP meds (diovan/hct) because of extreme light headedness/dizziness. A: The heart pumps to create enough blood pressure to deliver blood and oxygen to all parts of the body. How fast your heart has to pump depends on what you are doing. If you are getting light headed and dizzy it may be that your pressure has been lowered too much by your medication.
