New algorithm-based blood pressuring measuring device also interprets the results.
A Washington-based medical device company has released an automated, diagnostic blood pressure algorithm that interprets and evaluates the entire blood pressure measurement.
According to the company, OSTAR Healthcare Technology, the device employs a unique process that provides significant early warning alerts of possible emerging Arrhythmias, Valvular and Coronary Arterial conditions to healthcare professionals and patients. In a statement, OSTAR says the 3SI (3 simultaneous interpretations) device could be more effective than two widely used artificial intelligence systems — advent interpretive ECG algorithms and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which are portable electronic devices that automatically diagnoses potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias and treat them through the application of electrical therapy (shock).
Doug Hemenway, OSTAR President and CEO, stated that the “OSTAR 3SI algorithm and the following product releases to come, set the scene for a change in the overall role of blood pressure measurement globally. Furthermore, they are vital steps in OSTAR’s commitment to improving patient outcomes while avoiding unnecessary costs, in lockstep with current federal imperatives of” the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which is commonly called “Obamacare”.
The company hopes that their patented technology will change the relevance of the traditional automated blood pressure measurement, “from that of an interesting trend measurement to a necessary useful predictive indicator of impending valvular and coronary heart disease or cardiac arrest.”
A person diagnosed with hypertension might want to try a non-drug therapy rather than medication with all its side-effects. RESPeRATE is an FDA-approved, clinically proven device that offers a natural and non-invasive treatment for people with high blood pressure. By interactively guiding the user through unique, therapeutic breathing exercises that relax constricted blood vessels, the portable, computerized device, lowers blood pressure levels. RESPeRATE is also a treatment for stress, which in itself can lead to high blood pressure.
Using the device for just 15 minutes a few times a week delivers a significant all-day blood pressure reduction. RESPeRATE is available without a prescription and used by more than 250,000 men and women worldwide to lower high blood pressure naturally.
