Q:Will meditating bring down my high blood pressure?
A:Meditation on a regular basis can help lower blood pressure, but there are minimal studies that demonstrate this. Meditation helps relieve stress. Unfortunately, many people stop meditating when they need it most, when they are busy and stressed. A recent report was released by the American Heart Association, stating that meditation shows little affect on lowering blood pressure. The report went so far as stating that transcendental meditation may help lower blood pressure by only a small amount. Resperate, on the other hand, the report explained demonstrated “significant” reductions.
